Double Whammy

Today is Tuesday, it is my day off. I have a good reason on why I didn't enter an entry for the past two days.  Both days by the time I got home, It was eleven.

So the intro: My first internship backed out. Which is fine, because my new one, which is following three bands around for three weeks works just fine, as my Senior Project is based around Independent Bands.

Day 1: Cinco De Mayo Celebration at Dolores Park.

So the first day I spent helping out the CMC (Community Music Centre) Mission Branch's Youth Orchestra/Ensemble. A Majority of it was me focusing on being the general handyman of setting up stands, instruments, and being a body guard in general, guarding personal belongings. But after that, I got to talk with some members of other bands, and some of the head honchos of the CMC emsemble, since this isn't an Inde band, I couldn't really talk that much about my topics

The next day, I had a brief conversation with David Maloney of the Folk Dou Reilly and Maloney. For those who don't know, Reilly and Maloney is a folk duo that was made in the 70s, together realesing 10 Albums and 3 Live Albums. As a solo artist, David Maloney has released 11 Albums. It was easy getting to talk to him, even though he wasn't in my list of things to do that day. David and his Wife are Family friends and he was on the way to where I was going. Which was a Restaurant called "Sausalito Seahorse" which is in...Sausalito...

Besides the most Average Seafood I've had in my life, I was there from Four to Nine watching a Cuban Orchestra called Orquesta La Moderna Tradición  which was created by my Violin Teacher. During the hours from four to five, I spent the time setting up sound, and mics, being a general roadie along with being introduced to the world of Cuban Music.

Set up
Overall it was a tiring two nights. Next day I go to Richmond to a band rehearsal in one of the big centers of my SP.
